Celluloid Dolls, Toys and Playthings is a book totally devoted to the
development of celluloid in toys. It follows the evolution of American
celluloid in the toy industry beginning in 1880, and into the German
doll industry beginning in 1889. The book chronicles the spread of
celluloid throughout Europe during the late 19th century and into the
mass production of toys and playthings during the early 20th century. A
large section is devoted to Japanese figural toys that date from the
1920s through the occupation years of the 1950s. Over 600 full color
photographs are accompanied by historical photographs, patents, early
advertising and values. Available from the author for $30 plus $5
